Notes from the First Construction in Adelaide

Our first installation set-up was last night, and the piece looked great in the alley. The (few) people at the show seemed to take great interest. Tonight should be a better turn-out because the time slot is not competing with the Fringe Main Event concerts or parade as was the case last night. The installation had to combat a pretty steady and at times fierce wind. We designed the system to wrap around a guardrail to add stability/anchorage so as to avoid the box-kite effect. The suitcases acted as roofing in some spots to add weight to the structure. Thank goodness we’ve designed such a flexible piece.

The "On Air" sign was attached to the lighting tree making it the focal piece that it was supposed to be back in Vegas. (Note: The second in town performance did a better job at presenting the sign since we propped it up on a second suitcase.)
